October 4- China Dynasty

My Little Joe is a major Chinese Food Lover!  I decided that I would go to an old favorite of mine from my working days at Ohio State.  This adventure took us to China Dynasty, 1689 West Lane Avenue, Upper Arlington, OH 43221, http://www.chinadynasty-cmh.com/index.html .  Little Joe was very excited for this lunch outing as it was being paired with a trip to Larson's Toy Store, which is also at the Lane Avenue Mall.  Also very exciting was that our friend, Amber joined us as she is also a Chinese Food Lover and gets a kick out of all the foods Little Joe enjoys!  China Dynasty is tucked away on the backside of the Lane Avenue Mall and has many loyal customers that give them plenty of repeat business during the lunch hour.  Little Joe wasted no time in his ordering decision, he wanted Orange Chicken and a Spring Roll, but the lunch menu did not offer Orange Chicken, so I opted to order the dinner size portion for Little Joe.  For myself, I ordered Wonton Soup, Sesame Beef, Fried Rice and an Egg Roll.   Our friend Amber ordered up some Kung Pao Shrimp, White Rice and an Egg Roll.     Little Joe had never had Wonton Soup, which is a chicken broth, with a large wonton dumpling stuffed with pork and garnished with sliced green onions.  After Little Joe tried MY SOUP, he scooted the bowl over to his spot and there went my soup!  The rest of our food came out very quickly, but the server seemed very distracted.  The portion sizes were all large even the lunch portions.  Little Joe immediately went for the Orange Chicken and then stopped in his tracks and made a face.  Little Joe turned up his nose to the Orange Chicken!  I sampled some too and also found it disappointing.  The Orange Chicken reminded me of bad Chinese food from a food court.  Little Joe also turned away the Spring Roll, which in my opinion was overloaded with mushrooms.  So, Little Joe and I moved on to my plate.  Little Joe thought the Sesame Beef was delicious! I however thought it was a mess of super sweet gelatinous sauce with no sesame flavor.  Little Joe, once again scooted my plate a little closer to him, and ate until his little tummy was full.  I asked Amber, how her Kung Pao Shrimp was and she said it was "average", but very spicy and that she had better elsewhere.  Overall, the server was trying to hurry us a long through most of the lunch and she also forgot to bring Amber's Ice Teaand the food was no better than Chinese at the food court.  I was disappointed as this used to be a favorite lunch location many years ago!  I did however have fun chatting with Amber about my new endeavors with learning how to design websites and what my future plans were for traveling around with Little Joe.  After much deliberation with Little Joe, or should I say attempts to delay a nap, Little Joe decided a Pizza Joint is next in the line up!
